Ladbrokes are already pricing up Maurizio Sarri’s replacement in the Chelsea dugout.
After yet another defeat (his eighth as Chelsea boss), the bookies slashed Sarri’s Sack Race odds to just 4/6, while Zinedine Zidane is now just 2/1 to replace the Italian.
But just 6/1 says the Blues turn to a familiar face in Gianfranco Zola to be in charge on the opening day of next season, putting him level with Laurent Blanc and ahead of Jose Mourinho (16/1).
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Sarri’s sacking is seemingly inevitable and the early signs point towards a stint in the dugout for former Madrid man Zidane.”
